Forgive, forget,

It’s the same every time,

With forgiveness comes regret.

I never thought you would hurt me,

Would betray, forget, discard,

But you did,

What now?

With forgiveness comes regret.

I thought you might be different this time,

Maybe trusting, thoughtful, sweet. . .

I guess not,

What now?

Forgive, forget,

It’s the same every time,

With forgiveness comes regret.

I used to trust, I used to love, but not anymore,

Regret and failure never fail,

My trusting spirit?

Yes.
