Petite Poetry

You told me once I was special,

You said, “There’s no one quite like you.”

I smiled, said “Thank you”, than thought nothing more.

You told me once that my smile was your sun,

You said, “You brighten my darkest days.”

I blushed, said “I couldn’t shine without you”, than thought nothing more.

One day I saw you, standing there alone,

I smiled easily than realized,

You were more than my friend.

I told you once that you meant everything to me,

I said, “You are my world, my everything.”

You smiled at me and winked than said,

“You are my umbrella on a rainy day.”

I told you once that I love you,

I said, “I can’t live without you.”

You hugged me tightly and whispered,

“I love you too.”

I want to live happily-ever-after with only you,

You make me feel like a fairy-tale princess going to a ball,

I am not a princess though,

I cannot give you the moon.

You smiled at me in a way that I knew it didn’t matter.
