Tears of Fate

petitepoetry Posted by petitepoetry at 08:05 PM on September 08, 2009

I see you coming toward me,

My heart quickens the blood in my veins,

My throat tightens,

My brain stumbles for something to say,

I smile nervously and look up into your eyes,

I see something that makes my heart fall from the sky,

I see trust,

I see friendship,

I see a different kind of love,

A friendship that will allow nothing to happen,

My eyes fall to the floor,

My head bows as my cheeks burn with color,

I mumble a “hello” and quicken my once placid walk,

A tear drops to the ground,

For I have been tempted once again,

To what Fate would not allow.
