What is this?

Feelings are rushing through me,

I'm being washed away in the tide,

I can't understand this new intensity,

What have you done to me?

I'm taken by the love in your embrace,

I'm filled with the passion of your kiss,

Who are we to take ourselves beyond mere mortal love?

You have given flight to my thoughts,

You have lit my dimmed future,

You have given comfort to my fear stalled heart,

Why choose me?

I am nothing special, just simplicity at it's fullest,

I am too young to feel the fire that drives you,

I am too old to be counted among the innocent,

I am too confused to answer the questions we both ask,

So, why us?
