Promise What's a promise,

Just a word in a mouth,

A thought you'll never remember,

A fleeting impulse, gone with the morn.

What's a promise,

A truth of the heart,

A thought locked away forever,

A lasting emotion for that one person.

Promise me, Promise me,

No way to live,

Promises of the wind,

Here today, gone tomorrow.

I promise, I promise,

Sweet caring trust,

Promises of the heart,

Told today, locked away forever more.
